National Cherry Blossom Festival
Washington, D.C.

Celebrate springtime and see the nation’s funds in blossom at the Yearly Cherry Blossom Festival. This year’s five-week event marks the 100-year anniversary of this festival, which celebrates the friendship between Japan and the United States; it comprises the Blossom Kite Festival, live music and food at the Southwest Waterfront Fireworks Festival, cultural performances and much more.

See what’s fresh and trending in desk configurations as 41 Madison hosts its annual four-day event where notable designers and retailers showcase their latest merchandise. Over 23 showroom floors ranging from china to flatware will be accessible for both business buyers and sellers to navigate.

FAIR — April 13–15, 2012

Whether you are a recognized art collector or just a modern and modern art enthusiast, then head around to the Fashion Industry Gallery at the downtown Dallas Arts District and immerse yourself in a weekend of art. The fourth annual Dallas Arts Fair will feature over 70 national and international galleries and dealers exhibiting paintings, sculpture, drawings, prints, photographs and much more.

HOME TOUR — April 14, 2012
Smarter Spaces Tour
Austin, Texas

Measure inside 11 Austin homes celebrating usefulness and smart design from the first annual Smarter Spaces Tour. On this self-guided driving tour, see the designers, builders and architects maximized the space in houses ranging from 182 to 2,500 square feet. Architects featured include GnM Lohr Homes, Sago International (photo) and Harris Welker Architects.

SHOWCASE HOME — April 15–May 13, 2012
2012 Pasadena Showcase House
La CaƱada Flintridge, California

Over 30 designers came together to alter this year’s Pasadena Showcase House space by area: a Spanish colonial revival built in 1927 by architect John Winford Byers. Measure inside the eight made-over bedrooms and explore the two acres of landscape. Proceeds from the showcase house benefit audio programs and nonprofit organizations that provide music therapy, music education, scholarships and much more.
