Installing Curtain Tie Backs On Window Trim

When you redecorate your space or go into a residence that is new, remember to include tiebacks to your curtains — arching lines are created by them once the curtains are open and allow the curtains to shut for darkness or solitude. Install your tiebacks directly beneath the top rings or gliders on railing or the rod. If railing or your rod is narrow and does not extend beyond the edges of the window trim, you’ll need to install the tiebacks to the trim, in contrast to the wall.

Hang your curtains. Before you step for your tiebacks installing them permits you to assess your dimensions to be certain they are liked by you.

Multiply the amount of your curtains by .618 to determine the”golden mean” — the level at which you need to install your tiebacks. For example, if your curtains are 95 inches long, multiply 95 from .618 to receive 58.7 inches.

Hang a measuring tape in the outermost ring or blanket on one side of the curtain. Make a mark .618 of the curtain span beneath glider or the ring on the window trim in pen. On the vertical line, make another mark at .618 of the curtain span in the bottom of the curtain panel. For example, for 95-inch panels, mark the wall at 58.7 inches in the top and bottom of the curtains.

Repeat the measuring and marking on the side of the window trim. In the top set of marks, hold back the panels with the curtains fully closed. Then try the bottom set of marks. Ask a friend to hold the panels in place if at all possible, so you can step back and get a better opinion. Choose which set of symbols you would like to use for your tiebacks.

Drill pilot holes to the set of symbols you chose. Screw the tiebacks to the holesby hand or with a screwdriver, based on the design of the hardware.

Hold one curtain panel to the side. Thread it then bring it back In case the tieback employs rope or a ribbon and then hook it to the tieback. Repeat on the other side. In the event the tiebacks are massive hooks, without rope or any ribbon, hook the curtain panels.
